Nation's gathering

So, wow! What a gathering.

Even after a recent flood at the main Ha Ka Ta clearing site (the old Cherokee village site on the creek), we were able to have a nice gathering. Of course, we had to move everything further uphill to avoid the mud. Some of our warriors had to move the previously delivered port-a-john to a place everyone could get to it. Some of our members weren't able to make it due to health issues, gas prices, etc., but we still had a great turnout. A lot of folks were happy to see Hawk Dancing again, and he was happy to have a large class of kids to teach native dancing to.

There was a lot of relaxed fellowship, and we had another Cherokee Wedding before our ceremonies. We also honored Mother White Star (our most senior member), and recognized several members, including new Medicine Women and a new Shaman.
